How is the closing price determined on NSE?

Until August 3, 2026 the closing price is the VWAP (volume-weighted average price) of the last 30 minutes of trading. From August 3, 2026 SEBI introduces a Closing Auction Session (CAS) — a 25-minute auction window (3:15–3:40 PM) that sets the close. F&O-eligible stocks adopt CAS first; the rest follow later.
