Sensex vs Nifty — what's the difference?
The Sensex tracks 30 blue-chip stocks on the BSE; Nifty 50 tracks 50 large-cap stocks on the NSE. Both represent the Indian stock market's overall direction, but Nifty 50 is the more widely-traded index in derivatives.
